Pantry

Privacy Policy

Effective July 16, 2026 · Published by FutureToast Studios

This policy explains what information Pantry handles and how. It's written in plain English, because a policy you can't read isn't worth much.

The short version

We don't want your data. Pantry has no accounts to sign up for, no ads, and no trackers. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing. Ever.

  • No accounts
  • No ads
  • No trackers
  • Nothing sold
  • Cart stays on your device

Information the app uses

Location

With your permission, Pantry uses your device's location to find grocery stores near you and to look up prices in your area. Your coordinates are used to query store locations and are converted to a ZIP code for price lookups. Location is requested only while you use the app, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings. We do not build location histories, and we do not store your location on our servers tied to you in any way.

Searches and cart

The grocery items you search for are sent to our price server to fetch live prices. Searches are processed anonymously. There is no account or user identifier attached to them. Price results may be cached on our servers (keyed by search term and ZIP area, never by person) so the app is fast for everyone. Your shopping cart and display name are stored only on your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to verify your subscription status using an anonymous identifier. This lets your subscription restore across reinstalls without an account.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, and no data is ever sold or shared with data brokers.
  • No tracking across other apps or websites.
  • No accounts, emails, or passwords collected.
  • No contact list, photo, or microphone access.

Your choices

Because Pantry has no accounts, there's no profile to download or delete. Here's exactly what's in your hands:

  • Location: turn it off any time in the app, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Pantry. The app still works; it just can't find stores near you.
  • Your cart and display name: these live on your device only. Deleting the app deletes them.
  • Your subscription: managed by Apple, in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Service providers

Pantry relies on the following services to function: Apple (payments and app distribution), RevenueCat (anonymous subscription status), retailer pricing sources including the Kroger API, and Cloudflare (our price server infrastructure). Each receives only what is needed to return store and price data, never your identity.

Children

Pantry is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
